This site provides the online curriculum materials to support REM 252 Wildland Plant Identification at the University of Idaho.  This 2-credit course is offered by the Rangeland Ecology and Management program in the College of Natural Resources.

Students who complete this class will be able to:

  • Recognize definitive plant characteristics and use appropriate terms to describe the physical characteristics of plants.
  • Describe rangeland plants in terms of their growth form, longevity, origin, and invasive character.
  • Identify over 70 common North American rangeland plants by common and scientific name and family/tribe in which they are classified.
